The Principals
Bob Rule became a partner at B+R Partners in 1999 after 30+ years in human resource management, in both the corporate and recruiting services sectors. During his truly extraordinary career, he has founded two major firms in the executive search and staffing industry. In 1990, he founded Baker Street Group, which was recognized twice by the Houston 100 as one of the city's fastest growing companies. After tremendous internal growth and an acquisition program that integrated five competing staffing firms, it merged with a nationally based, publicly traded firm in 1997, at which time Bob took the reigns of a $125 Million region.
Mr. Rule also founded W. Robert Michaels & Company in 1980, a retained executive search firm specializing in the oil and gas, financial services, and engineering/ construction contracting sectors, which was subsequently sold in 1987, and remains a successful business entity. Bob subsequently accepted the challenge as Sr. Vice President for the SW region of a national staffing firm where he drove revenues to exceed $30 million.
Bob earned his undergraduate degree from Rice University, and began his professional career with Tenneco and Transco Energy Company. He is a past President of the Texas Association of Staffing and is the published author of "The Hunt for Green Octobers, a Practical Guide for the Job Seeker and Committed Careerist."
Ed Brooks became a partner at B+R Partners after completing a 30 year career as a practicing attorney and corporate CEO and President.
In over 20 years of practicing law, he provided legal representation on corporate matters, including structuring/closing mergers and acquisitions for major entities and successfully prosecuted and defended claims as a litigator.
Mr. Brooks served as CEO and President for both a $2+ Billion asset based financial institution with multiple offices; and a software based, technology service provider. His vast business experiences include the recapitalization and reorganization of a $12 Billion entity, numerous multi-million dollar debt restructures, asset acquisitions and divestitures involving the energy, real estate and financial service sectors.
A significant hallmark of Ed's career is the building of cohesive, effective executive teams through his instinctive hiring ability and strong, nurturing leadership.
A native Houstonian, Ed earned his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. He has been active in a number of community organizations involving the academic and athletic enrichment of young people, and served on the Boards of banks and a wide range of other public and private companies and civic organizations.
Roger Rule joined B+R Partners with 11 years of human resource management experience both in the corporate and the recruiting/staffing industries. Roger has spent most of his career consulting with C-level executives as well as mid-management and field operations leaders.
Mr. Rule's corporate experience was gained with Nabors Well Services, a $700 Million oilfield services provider. During his tenure, Roger was responsible for the organization's recruiting and staffing efforts, compensation analysis, HRIS integration and personnel administration.
Roger also served as a fully autonomous Branch Manager for a national contract placement organization where he directed sales/service activities that generated sales in excess of $3 million annually. He was actively involved in the Texas Association of Staffing.
Roger's career was augmented by an 8 year tenure with a large retail/food services company, progressing to a Customer Services management position where he was responsible for the daily direction of over 70 employees.
A native Houstonian, Mr. Rule graduated from The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Business Technology and a minor in Training & Development in 1996.
