Winter 2006
For many years, Hallmark, the maker of greeting cards, has presented superior television programming - two-hour movie productions that are titled the "Hallmark Hall of Fame". The themes always highlight worthy values, but the commercials (and only Hallmark is advertised) make the viewing extra special. Almost every commercial evokes emotions that produce a moist eye and re-enforces that we should "care enough to send the very best".
The following is a sampling of sentiments, obviously tailored for the occasion, that can be bought at any Hallmark store. The "very best" is the only Standard by which we should all Measure Life.
A big pile of money would make the perfect Christmas gift, but mall security yanked me out of the fountain before I was able to scrape up a respectable amount. Merry Christmas
Happy Birthday from the folks who know you best - and like you anyway.
You're 18 ! Congratulations ! Now you can be tried as an adult !!!
A Shower gift for you - in case there is anything you both need - besides each other.
God knows your loss. Lay your burdens in His hands, for He is strong. Rest your head on His shoulders, for He is compassionate. Give to Him your pain and sorrow, for He is love - In Sympathy
I smile because you are my brother . . . and I laugh because there's nothing you can do about it ! Happy Birthday
Let this feeling last a lifetime . . . Let this wonder never end . . . Let this dream go on forever . . . As time stops and two lives blend - A Wedding Wish
On the road of life -- its not where you go, but who you're with that makes the difference -- Happy Valentines Day
I've worked up a musical number as a Get Well wish - it's a bunch of pops and snaps that I call, "Getting off the Sofa".
On the very first Birthday we ever have, there is no cake, no candles, no silly hat. We just show up and we're handed a great big beautiful gift called LIFE.
May this New Year be filled with the love of family and friends, faith and joy to warm your soul, and a peace of mind that lasts through the year - Thinking of you at the New Year.
